Tessa Williams
[edit]I'm fairly certain she doesn't share this information with the internet, but Tessa's last name is Williams, with Violet actually being her middle name. This changes the article quite drastically, as she is referred to by her middle name mistakenly several times.
However it would seem ethically irresponsible to change her written name on this article. She may have personal reasons for choosing to withhold this information from the public. Does this (encyclopedic) article have a responsibility to provide her full legal name or not? At the very least I think it should be cleaned up a fair bit to avoid using her actual middle name in place of a surname (the entire article is horribly out of date anyway).

- it seems as if you did add her full name and while that may not have been the best idea ( one might even call it a bad idea ) , it's arguably far too late ( 5 years late actually ) to revert this edit. it has been , as i said , five years and nobody has done what you proposed. yet again it is horribly out of date and is often vandalized. i have three suggestions:
1- make sure she is adressed as tessa or williams. violet does make more sense from a readers pov but it isnt correct. 2- look into semi protecting the article - it seems as if most of the vandalizing is done by people not logged in so it should prove highly effective. 3- either do a crazy amount of editing or (maybe partially) rewrite the article.

Russian Meme
[edit]According to KnowYourMeme, the reason that Russian nationalists in a pro-Russian meme group on VK made her (and the video for “Crush” specifically) a pro-Russian meme is that the shirt she is wearing in the video says “Мишка” - Mishka, a Russian colloquialism for “bear”, an oft-used unofficial symbol for Russia (for that history, see here: https://www.rbth.com/history/330484-russian-bear-became-symbol ). Also, some users said her hair coloring is reminiscent of the Russian imperial flag, with black roots showing on top, bright yellow (not blonde) dyed hair as the middle stripe, and pale skin perhaps representing the white bottom stripe.

I’ll leave this here for a more experienced editor to decide whether any of this would serve to improve that section of the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1002:B108:65D6:95EF:1714:893:447B (talk) 13:59, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
Genres
[edit]This is one of those things that I know can be very tricky. While her early music may fit 'indie pop,' her new music has a much more rock and electronic sound. The article on indie pop doesn't give a great definition but one thing it does mention is a "stripped-down quality." If you listen to her latest single "Yes Mom", it's definitely not "stripped-down," she's moved into a much heavier sound. So I feel like another genre should be added, I'm just not sure what exactly.
