[edit]I've only recently begun to do research on the Maya languages and Maya tribes.
I'm far more familiar with the ANCIENT Maya than the modern Maya tribes.

Maya
[edit]According to my sources, the Chontal languages are NOT Mayan but Hokan. This may be a confusion with the Chontal people of Tabasco, who are Mayan. I have changed the article accordingly.--Rockero 04:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
