[edit]- Are the Orongoronga's part of this mountain chain?Book M 10:56, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Geographically they are, but geographically it's all part of the Southern Main Range that extends through the entire country. The Orongorongas are the part within Rimutaka Forest Park, whereas the Tararuas are usually thought of as the part within Tararua Forest Park. Izogi (talk) 05:53, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
History Section, including The Sutch Search
[edit]I've added a short history section, mostly talking about The Sutch Search of 1933 although that's only a tiny part of the Tararuas' history. I included a couple of references, but unfortunately one of them regarding the media coverage of the time is a link to my blog, because I can't find any other suitable references. I'm hoping it'll be grudgingly accepted under the circumstances because it's mostly an objective reproduction of the newspaper articles and letters to the editor about the event in 1933, but if anyone else knows something that'd fit better, please go ahead and change it!
