There seems to be nothing special about this omnibus edition(s), and we have an article on the Dying Earth series, so there is no call for this article.

My work on the series article, now underway, amounts to a merge although i was not aware of this stub (which provides no independent data but the contents for one of four volumes).

If this {{Infobox book}} is judged to be worthy, it can be included in the series article, below its {{infobox book series}} —without duplicating the cover image, of course.

After a second pass at Dying Earth i will call for deletion here. --P64 (talk) 19:53, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this, this article has no real encyclopedic value.--Narayan (talk) 19:48, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After reading instructions I realize delete is inappropriate. Instead I have replaced the stub with WP:REDIRECT to Dying Earth (duh). No administrative process is necessary.
Redirect done.
I am in the middle --having saved one over-complicated version-- of transferring the two following sections from one Talk to the other, but that may be unnecessary. I'll look it over. --P64 (talk) 20:36, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Probably this Talk page will be effectively abandoned. There is no reason to delete sections or copy them wholesale, only to mention at Talk:Dying Earth. (nearly done) --P64 (talk) 20:45, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This stub admits or proclaims two references. (quote)

I have visited them and I don't understand what it would mean to use them as references. Am i missing a list of contents of The Compleat Dying Earth? --P64 (talk) 19:55, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Short story collection

[edit]

Only the first and fourth of four books were marketed as collections. From ISFDB i understand that all four provided tables of contents, but two were marketed as novels. The second was overtly a fix-up of six stories, five previously published. ISFDB catalogs the third as a novel rather than a fix-up, but also qualifies that label. "This is marketed as a novel, but there is a table of contents, and some of the parts were previously published (although none are acknowledged thus)."

Was this omnibus edition or another marketed as a short story collection, or somewhere catalogued as one?

How many previously published short fictions does the book acknowledge?

Should it be called a short story collection? --P64 (talk)
