boletus lupinus

[edit]

How can one distinguish between the posioness boletus lupinus and Suillus granulatus? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.178.240.150 (talk) 07:29, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've picked a lot of s. glanulatus, and from the descriptions at Rubroboletus lupinus and Rubroboletus there is no similarity at all except they both have pores and a yellow stem. Please read the descriptions and check for yourself. BTW, s. granulatus is also "poisonless" insofar it is edible, though it may still upset your guts, depending on cooking preparation.
