CMIIW, but is this kind of information relevent for an encyclopedia article? Hermansaksono 15:16, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would say no; aside from being unencyclopaedic, it's also advertising. --^pirate 15:25, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Old Woman in Pink (2)

[edit]

Could that be a parody of Cindy Jackson? She's not exactly a young woman, and still, she wants to be Barbie, so... I was just wondering... (Darth Angelus Potter 22:01, 9 May 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Nicolette Sheridan?!

[edit]

I've changed the line that says the Old Woman in Pink is a parody of Nicolette Sheridan. Sheridan neither looks (she's never been known to have a spray-tan) nor dresses like the character, and she's really not a big part of the celebrity/stupid-girl culture that's being parodied in the video. The Old Woman in Pink looks much more like Donatella Versace (or possibly Victoria Gotti), both of whom are known for the kind of vapidity and conspicuous consumption that characterizes a Stupid Girl. --Aemilia 19:45, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure that it's intended to be Nicolette Sheridan. She had a whole famous car washing scene that was possibly a parody of Jessica and Paris when Desperate Housewives first came out. It's not intended to be Nicolette as much as her character Edie Britt who does dress like that. Also if you look at her, she's in front of a suburban home obviously resembling the desperate housewives set.

Also Edie wears pink often and can be seen jogging along the street. She dresses and acts young and sexy and is desperate to hang on to her youth, beauty and sex appeal.

Fred Segal Girl

[edit]

Is the Fred Segal girl supposed to be Mary-Kate Olsen or Hilary Duff? People say Mary-Kate because she mostly looks like her. But Pink said on TV that she didn't spoof the Olsen Twins and she dosn't think they're stupid girls. And although Hilary Duff is a blonde, she also known to be a brunette. And Hilary Duff is obviously a "Stupid girl".

  • According to some newspaper I have, the Fred Segal girl is "supposedly" a spoof of Mary Kate Olsen, not Duff.
    • Ha! I think Pink was being clever by saying she didn't spoof the "Olsen Twins" she didn't spoof the twins, only Mary-Kate. She doesn't actually THINK they are stupid girls either, she thinks they (or at least Mary-Kate) ACT stupid and make poor role models for girls. ~amyanda —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.180.194.142 (talk) 14:35, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Finishing School Teacher

[edit]

I was under the impression that the teacher was a negative role model rather than a positive one. She teaches girls how to flip their hair and gets annoyed when a student looks like she's thinking. I may be entirely wrong, and I was wondering if there was some sort of MTV making the video thing that said she was supposed to be a positive role model. Comments? Thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.234.52 (talk) 09:52, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jessica/Lindsay

[edit]

Did Pink herself say that Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan are famous for being famous? If not then we need different examples in that section because both Jessica and Lindsay have careers. Both are singers and actors. ---Shadow- (talk) 03:14, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...yeah, very good ones.--93.122.135.1 (talk) 18:14, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Little Girl in the video

[edit]

Who is the little girl in the video with the pigtales? she looks exactly like Drew Barrymore when she played Gertie in ET. (And clearly she is meant to) Why is she not mentioned at ALL in this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.180.194.142 (talk) 14:37, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it should be a pop song because it was in the Pop 100 and and it was nominated for best pop vocal performance in 2007

What does stupid mean?

[edit]

Stupid means lacking intelligence or common sence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cchheellyy (talkcontribs) 00:00, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Entire "Reception" section

[edit]

To the author of the comment above, I think you mean "common sense". "Sence" isn't a word.

The "Reception" section is horribly written, with several sentences that make no sense and/or contain confusing phrasing. As an example, the sentence

"Allmusic praised her delivery when she's taunting and teasing this song and it was titled as one of the standouts on album."

Should that be "standouts on [the] album"? And what about "when she's taunting and teasing this song"? Is that supposed to be "when she's taunting and teasing [in] the song"? I don't know. It's hard to decipher the author's actual intent. Someone who can speak and write English well should edit that entire section to make it at least comprehensible.
