COI concerns
[edit]The creator of this article has been asked to declare any WP:COI or WP:PAID connection to the subject. See threads at User talk:Pesticide1110. Nick Moyes (talk) 14:06, 13 February 2020 (UTC)
- He is talking about me. You all have already done enough to bring my name into disrepute so there's no point in hiding my identity. Instead of actually declaring that i am connected with the subject, to which i have already said no, you should have tried writing- "The creator of this article is suspected to be in connection with the subject". As i have already said, i have no connection to the subject. He was just handpicked by me when i was editing on The Lumineers because he was the most notable among all others who didn't have an article. I e-mailed him because i wanted to know some very basic info to which he replied. And replying to someone doesn't make him my friend or something like that. Regarding that comment on Teahouse, i just exaggerated it because i was overwhelmed by the feeling that he replied to me. Being continents apart and having different religions and ethnicity as well, there is no chance that i am related to him. Nor am i paid by him because he wasn't interested at all in having an article here. Here's a copy of his initial reply -
Thanks for the kind words- pretty sure the Lumineers wiki article fansweeps me out anyway, havent checked (checking now) Hm, yah its a bit messy but i guess it gets the point across and i was surprised to see i stayed in! woo! Writing ones own bio always is tough- i’m not sure, beyond responding to this email, i have the self furvor that it takes to make a self bio- that said, again, thanks at least for the fun email, and the kind words
After which i gave him a thumbs up. But moments later he sent this-
Ok, I talked to my wife and she said this was a sweet gesture and I should go along with jt- what kind of stuff do you need? i’m gonna avoid easily hackable questions (color of first house? Brick) (mothers maiden name? Rock) (Least favorite subject?Music) jk. what do you think? what do you need,
Saying that these copies are created by me for misleading is pretty inaccurate because my accent is British-english and i can never talk in this american english accent. Although i hope editors will keep in mind the edits i have devoted to this encyclopaedia and years of service and ofcourse this article itself before accusing me again of having COI without reliable proofs. Your revert on Stelth Ulvang
[edit](Moved from my/Gråbergs Gråa Sång's talkpge)
Can you please clearly state the reason why you removed the citation? Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 09:00, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Pesticide1110 [1] Yes: The date of the ref, it does not mention the name Dorota Szuta, and it's a WP:BLOGS in a WP:BLP. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:11, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- I will leave this for others to figure out. Pesticide1110 (talk) 09:16, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- It also doesn't state that he is married. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:18, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hmmmm...How come i not notice that? Sorry for my clumsiness. Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 12:27, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hey Gråbergs Gråa Sång. There's an instagram post from Stelth Ulvang (posted on 19 February 2016) in which he clearly states that its his birthday. Can we use that info with the insta post as its citation? Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 14:36, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- And here it is. The citation you were looking for. The registry of their marriage. Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 14:50, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Come on. Obviously not BLP-good, you need WP:OR to conclude these are the right people (though I think it is, that looks like him), and it doesn't say they are married. I actually came across that one when I looked for sources when the article was new. As for his Instagram, if it says "today is my birthday", not like this one [2], then you have a birthdate, sure, but unless he says "I'm 18" you still don't have a birthyear. I wonder why he doesn't note these things on his webpage, but maybe it's considered bad marketing to do so. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 15:46, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Forget about this. I have got something even more pathetic. Look at this. It states that Ulvang was born in 1986. And this verifies that his birthdate is 19 February. So can we use it as a citation for his birthday. Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 17:27, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Although i believe that the first one is the worst form a citation can ever be in. Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 17:33, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- myheritage.com is at best WP:BLPPRIMARY (and there's nothing that says this is the SU we are looking for), so that's out [3]. Just because it's online doesn't mean it's good for WP. The Guardian does not say what day they sang Happy Birthday, are you WP:ORing again? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:55, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Nah! I never publish any edit which is original research. You know it as well. In fact, i back a single content with atleast 2 or 3 citations. If you look closely, then The Guardian have published the article on 19 Feb and thus i concluded it. Similarly this article was published on 20 Feb. And hence i deduced that the birth date is 19 Feb. Regards Pesticide1110 (talk) 18:16, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- But neither article says when the concert took place, so yes, that's OR. And the two dates makes it even more unsure. Generally I would assume, for my own purposes, that reviews like these were published the day after the event, but there is no guarantee of that. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:25, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- FWIW, I skimmed through the 4 pages of googlehits I got for "Stelth Ulvang" 1986, and apart from myheritage I found nothing. And we don't need it. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:33, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hmmm...Have a nice day. Pesticide1110 (talk) 00:03, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
