[edit]To Stefan Wyszyński - 'cardinal' is not his middle name, it's his rank in the Church.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 00:39, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Seems pretty clear as per WP:NCWC. Olessi (talk) 23:58, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
It is upsetting that Wyszynski is being considered for statehood given his anti-semitism, which
characterized the Polish church at the time.
From http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Kielce_pogrom#Reaction_of_the_Catholic_Church:
"Similar comments were made by the Bishop of Lublin, Stefan Wyszyński, when he was approached by a Jewish delegation. Wyszyński stated that the popular hatred of Jews was caused by Jewish support for communism (there was widespread perception in Poland after 1945 that Jews were supportive of the newly installed communist regime; see Żydokomuna), which had also been the reason why 'the Germans murdered the Jewish nation.' Wyszyński also gave some credence to blood libel rumours, commenting that the question of the use of Christian blood was never completely clarified."

Placing "Cardinal" between 1st and last names is, as I recall reading, a holdover from before the existence of surnames. You might have said back then "Stefan, the cardinal from (blank)". In some modern contexts, however, "Cardinal" is placed BEFORE the first name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 21:19, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Why did someone put 1944 in for the end of World War II? I was wondering about the war ending in 1944 in some places, but recall that Russian troops headed west to besiege Berlin, where Hitler would commit suicide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 21:21, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
Wyszyński and Kielce pogrom
[edit]Wyszyński had no connection with Kielce. I don't accept his opinions but are these opinions notable to create a subsection? His opinions about Communism are more important.Xx236 (talk) 12:59, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- prohibited religious indoctrination in public schools - it's Communist language. We don't use Nazi language, why do we use a Communist one?Xx236 (talk) 13:02, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
