Talk:Squalane

"Squalene was traditionally sourced from the livers of sharks, with approximately 3000 required to produce one ton of squalane." Should this last word not be "squalene".

Intermediate production steps

[edit]

This needs some information on the intermediate step of isosqualene (boiling point, etc.) for production purposes. All other intermediate steps have articles and isolating the final product from the unhydrogenated isosqualene is difficult without info on it. I added a link to the un-written article, but if anyone has other online sources for that info it would also be helpful.

This is a relatively expensive cosmetic product so it would be nice to increase access to this information. Tylerdore (talk) 18:40, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
