Question
[edit]Ok. So how did an English district come to have a motto in Dutch? Morwen - Talk 13:11, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Translation
[edit]And is the motto's translation correct? If it had been 'Niets...' in modern Dutch, the translation would be the more recognisable "Nothing without work" which goes back to a Latin proverb. My Old Dutch is a bit limited, but I wonder if that isn't the right answer. In any case, what does 'not without work' mean if it isn't equivalent to 'nothing...'? Anyone help?
