– There doesn't appear to be a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Clarityfiend (talk) 05:00, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Sorn, East Ayrshire would be preferable and consistent with others at Category:Villages in East Ayrshire. 162 etc. (talk) 05:45, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Views[[1]] suggest there may be a primary topic for just "Sorn" but if moved it should probably be Sorn, East Ayrshire per WP:SCOTLANDPLACE as the castle is a PTM of the village and the river is outside East Ayrshire so per WP:PLACEDAB the higher division not generic class is probably more appropriate. - Support Sorn (disambiguation) → Sorn per nomination and support Sorn → Sorn, East Ayrshire per 162 etc. and Crouch, Swale. There are 13 entries listed upon the Sorn (disambiguation) page, with no indication that the small Scottish village holds such great historical significance that it dwarfs the combined notability of the remaining 12 entries. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:37, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- I've no objection to Sorn, East Ayrshire. Clarityfiend (talk) 11:44, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

Why was this moved?
[edit]So we have the village that people refer to as "Sorn". We have the castle that people refer to as "Sorn Castle" not simply "Sorn". We have the river that people refer to as "River Sorn" or perhaps "Sorn River", but not simply "Sorn". We have a rock off the coast of Georgia, definitely a candidate for primary topic here. Then we have a bunch of people who each have multiple names, none of them named simply "Sorn". In short there is only one thing on this list that is referred to simply as "Sorn". Why was this moved? Interesting decision. AlistairMcMillan (talk) 19:41, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- There is Sorn (singer). Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:44, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, you got me there. So there are two subjects that are commonly referred to as "Sorn". AlistairMcMillan (talk) 23:59, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- People with the given name or surname are always included in disambiguation pages. As for rivers, they are commonly shortened, e.g. the Nile, the Mississippi, etc. So a village, population 350, does not trump all of these and others. Clarityfiend (talk) 21:49, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Good point.
- Not scientific by any measure, but in a Google Search for "the Sorn" (in a private tab so hopefully default results) almost every result in the first ten pages of results is about the Sorn Inn, the restaurant/hotel in Sorn. A notable handful are about the Statutory Off Road Notification. A couple are about short stay lets called "The Sorn", including one in Mauchline?! And that's about it. Zero results about the river. - The singer has 4,583 views compared with only 161 for the village and 36[[2]] for the station. I missed her stats at the RM because she is linked through the redirect Chonnasorn Sajakul but based on this its quite clear the village isn't primary by usage.
