you can see it on turbonick as of now. not sure if it was there earlier though. (5:32 Central Time US) It's buggy though, maybe they posted it by accident? doesn't show up in the avatar video section, just under new videos.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.109.166.97 (talk) 22:32, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In Depth

[edit]

Okay. I expanded the synopsis, but it needs work. I don't know if the swordsmaster has a name (or if "swordsmaster" is grammatically correct?) and some of the paragraphs get a bit shaky. The point is, I tried to cover most of the plot. Feel free to add to it, or whatever. Bonekhan 02:29, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an awesome episode, I'll try to watch it again online so that I can add some more. Namely, I plan to list the exercises Iroh is performing in each of the shots, and provide links to articles about them on Wikipedia. Just as the four bending forms are affiliated with chinese arts and can get fans interested in them, I think Iroh's bodybuilding will inspire many to train hard. Of what I recall, he does clapping pushups, handstand pushups, situps, inverted situps, and one-arm chinups. Possibly I forgot one or two, I can't remember as I was rather tired then. Tyciol 21:17, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, you pretty much got them all, actually. I'm adding a little bit to the summary as well, namely the uncanny resemblence between Iroh and the Shopkeeper, a bit more detail in Sokka's training and Skirmish with Piando, and maybe adding some more facts to the Trivia.Stormfin 23:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Turbonick Video Issues

[edit]

Does anyone know what is going on with the turbonick episode video??? Is this an isolated incident or does it happen to other computers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.109.166.97 (talk) 02:34, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It happened to me, like, it began to reshow the end of the "theme song" and then the sound was off. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.185.242.83 (talk) 16:52, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Turbo Nick always has prolbems, in fact the entire website Nick.com always has glithes, it is a fucked up website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.163.32.133 (talk) 17:01, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Forrest Gump Reference?

[edit]

Sokka's "signature" ( http://screenshots.avatarspiritmedia.net/304/121.jpg ) seemed a bit Forrest Gump-ish to me. Anyone think this is worth noting? Bagpipeturtle 05:41, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

lol, I see what you mean, but I doubt it.Dragon queen4ever 19:17, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Toph's bending the space metal....

[edit]

It's in the article twice. Once within the description as well as in the Production notes. Once is probably enough. --Drmike 16:30, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll also like to add that if you look carefully you can see that for one second Toph bends the meteorite as the Nick simbol here is a link to a screencap from avatarspirit.net [1] 201.229.239.15 02:39, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's already been covered twice in the article. --Drmike 21:12, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References to other media

[edit]

Please stop removing these without a good reason. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici 22:53, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They don't belong there. Honestly, these trivia-ish sections shound'nt exist at all, if we can avoid it. Anyway, as I've been trying to explain, these articles are about the episode, not objects and so forth that just appear/are mentioned in it. I don't see why that's so hard to understand, honestly.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 22:58, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Though I'm firmly against the fluff that constantly appears in trivia sections, and take it out whenever I can, I do have to point out that these articles are most definitely not supposed to just include a summary of the episode. Now I am in no way saying we should include those bits about elvish swords and whatnot, as much as I love Tolkien those notes are pretty much solid conjecture and not necessarily even an external reference, but these articles are supposed to have info on how they relate to the real world and what went into their creation. These particular bits that right now seem to be the point of contention are, quite obviously, fluff, but the section itself is not only allowable, but necessitated by Wikipedia guidelines. Of course, if we have nothing to put in it then it should not be here, but not having anything right now doesn't mean we never will. JBK405 23:58, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fyre2387 is simply wrong to assert that "these articles are only about the episode and not things appearing in it". Things "appearing in" an episode are "the episode". Look at other episode lists. I'm putting the material back in, though if enough disagree that there is any connection an individual point (i.e. meteorite swords) can be removed, but in principle somehow removing the very concept of a "references to outside media" section is simply wrong. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici 01:47, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can add production notes once the episode is released on DVD. Until then, we can't. Production notes usually involve how the episodes were made, not that toph bends metal into the nick logo. The Placebo Effect 02:04, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, most definitely not saying we should include the fluff and trivia that's currently under debate, but the "production notes" catagorey has to do with the production of the episode, and that includes the writing, acting, and animation of the episode. That, in turn, includes not just how they were made, but also why they were made, and that includes referencing other media (Although, again, I'm not saying we plug in the bit with the meteor swords). The Blind Bandit, for example, has been explicitly stated to be a parody/homage to professional wrestling, and thusly that is included on that article page. If the episode truly had made a concrete statement that Sokka's sword was an homage to an elvish blade then we should include that, too; it's just that the episode didn't (Straddling the line a bit?) An Aether Sword?

[edit]

Now does this mean that Sokka offically covers another element only mentioned a few times within the series? I mean the sword was made of metorite and metorites are outside the terrestrial sphere so to speak. Anything outside the terrestrial sphere, including thoughts and even the spirit world, doesn't that count as Aether and shouldn't it be mentioned in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.189.178.59 (talk) 23:39, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. Aether hasn't been mentioned, hinted, implied, or even referenced in the series, and since Toph could bend it, it clearly counts as some from of Earth. JBK405 00:01, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't have to be earth. Rocks count as well. Shouldn't it be Air sword, or something? - Hariki<3 00:04, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why would it be an Air sword? It's made of metal, which is itself Earth (albeit altered Earth). JBK405 17:41, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

White lotus

[edit]

By the way, the tiling of the patio that Piandao fights Sokka on at the end of the episode was a white lotus. Might be an interesting fact to add to the Series continuity piece about the other white lotus references. Beast of traal T C _ 23:44, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Beast of traal[reply]

Sword Style?

[edit]

The sword style that the master uses (and teaches to Sokka) seems very similar (if not the same) as the Tai Chi Jian forms. Can anyone confirm/deny whether if it was modeled after that or not? (I don't want to make an edit unless it's a sure thing) Suiken 05:11, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Li' as a cover name: reference to Zuko?

[edit]

Was the whole "there's a million Li's" supposed to be a joke reference to Zuko for when he was in the Earth Kingdom? Could be, might not be? Suiken (talk) 03:13, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
