Denby Grange
[edit]There is no place called Denby Grange. That is the name of the colliery that he was a director of.
I expect that he was from Netherton, Wakefield, which is where the Denby Grange Colliery was, but I cannot find a source for this. Epa101 (talk) 21:30, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
- The Denby Grange estate was the seat of the Lister Kaye baronets. The house was demolished in the 20th century. I think it was not far from the Kaye Arms between the mining museum and Grange Moor. The collieries owned by the family were named from the estate. Your speculation about Netherton is entirely wrong. Denby Grange, house and estate, predated the colliery which was sunk as the "Prince of Wales" or locally "Wood Pit" until it was renamed in the 1940s. J3Mrs (talk) 21:07, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
