Deceased

[edit]

I found an interview which suggests that Shafi Hadi is deceased. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:44, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure whether to make mention of this in the article or not. That interview is the only (online) reliable source I can find that refers to Hadi being deceased. Still, for possible future use, here's the full reference:

Discography

[edit]

According to Allmusic, Debut Rarities Vol. 3 (although released as a Mingus album) was performed by the Shafi Hadi Sextet. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 05:11, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Education

[edit]

The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz says that Hadi studied at "U. of Det." which I assume is short for "University of Detroit." I am not sure if this means University of Detroit Mercy, as I am not sure whether that school has a music program. For a time, the Detroit Institute of Musical Arts awarded degrees through the University of Detroit, though it would be pure conjecture on my part to say that this is where Hadi studied. For now I've simply linked to "University of Detroit Mercy" and labeled it "University of Detroit". -- Gyrofrog (talk) 22:49, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
