Requested move (2009)
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was Move Parsecboy (talk) 02:57, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Sexy (disambiguation) → Sexy — The proposal is to move this page be moved to the title Sexy, which currently redirects to Sexual attraction, but could have several other meanings pertaining to sexuality (such as sexual arousal, as well as the more obscure uses (such as book or song titles), many of that are not listed on this page, but could be. — Shaliya waya (talk) 20:08, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Survey
[edit]- Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with
*'''Support'''
or*'''Oppose'''
, then sign your comment with~~~~
. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's naming conventions.
- Support. Current redirect is just plain inaccurate, there are two candidates for primary meaning and several other candidates to disambiguate, so it should be a disambig. Andrewa (talk) 01:43, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
- Support Appears to be a good idea. §hepTalk 01:37, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Requested edit (2009)
[edit]I think the first sentence on this page: "Sexy is an adjective derived of the word sex and refers to being sexually attractive a to a particular person."
to: "Sexy is an adjective that refers to being sexually attractive, although, in slang, it can also be used to describe something to be generally good-looking."
Or something of the sort. Many people (especially what I see/hear on T.V. and around where I live) use sexy in that manner. Please discuss this change. If this is something we agree upon to be added, please do. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eboyjr (talk • contribs) 03:28, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- If there is an additional article that the term "sexy" can mean, you can add it to this list. Shaliya waya (talk) 15:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Okay... Physical attractiveness covers this well —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eboyjr (talk • contribs) 02:31, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
I agree, but shouldn't this be in Wiktionary? It is a definition. ----AliciaTanROX (talk) 05:15, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Adjective
[edit]Here are examples of "Sexy" used as an adjective: Cute boys like sexy girls. Look at that sexy striptease! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.182.252.103 (talk) 07:58, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
There is an even more general meaning: "Exciting", or simply "attractive" in the most general sense. For example, people preparing to do a PhD might talk about a "sexy new area of research" the want to be involved in; Employers will entice interviewees with the chance to play with "sexy new toys" - i.e. technologies and equipment that the prospective employeer would be unable to get their hands on elsewhere. It's hard to think where to find citations for these uses, since they're more likely to occur in face-to-face speech than any official or published documents, but you should be able find examples in fictional dialogue, either prose or TV/movie. 82.33.116.25 (talk) 03:10, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
TARDIS
[edit]The Doctors TARDIS is named Sexy, could that have a section? 2.102.243.204 (talk) 09:47, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Comments
[edit]Note that there is also a Fon"sexy" usage of this term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.249.128.152 (talk) 16:49, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
PICTURES
[edit]I would say it needs the sexiest man and women of the particular year but since those are completely invalid at least a reference to the sexiest man of all time would suffice: Freddie Mercury. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ActualUserName (talk • contribs) 05:34, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
Why won't my wiki account let me upload photos
[edit]I am trying to upload a pic of something, but my account won't let me
