Glad to help out. This woman is truly a hero.(Hyperionsteel (talk) 15:23, 6 December 2008 (UTC))
Already righteous?
[edit]There are conflicting sources whether she was already given the title Righteous Among the Nations. Most reliable sources only state that Israel is "considering" or "planning" to give her the title.[1] [2]. However, I found two sources ,an Indian daily and an Australian daily, which state that she was already given the title. Although both seem to be considered reliable in their respective countries, I'm not that confident in using them for this Israeli news. I suspect they jumped the gun. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 00:44, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- It's also possible that the latter sources are updated. They are a day or two after the former sources..--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 02:53, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Righteous?
[edit]I'll admit I don't get it. Ms. Samuel did what anyone would do under the same circumstances, pick up a baby out of a pool of its parents blood and run out of the building. There was no special risk to her in doing so, was there? It is hard to see what the heroic action was. Has Israel so cheapened the title "Righteous Among the Nations" that they would award it to Schindler .... and Ms. Samuel? I wish they would save it for those few who truly deserve it. 207.69.139.147 (talk) 15:24, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Her life was at risk. Gunmen were still in the building shooting everyone in sight. When she emerged from her hiding place, it would have been very easy for her to run out of the building to safety. Instead, she went upstairs (i.e. deeper in the building) to try and help Moshe and his parents, despite the risk to her own life. Many people would have taken the easy way out - to simply run to safety. Had it not been for her bravery, Moshe would almost certainly have been killed. That is why Sandra is a hero. excessive repetitive detail
[edit]This article about one event just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Hows about tightening up the content a little bit and not so much of the WP:FANCRUFT?Active Banana (talk) 03:22, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
