Deletion

[edit]

The proposal to delete this page seems wrong. This Society has had a significant place in Scottish life over a period of more than half a century. People will sometimes want to know about it, and this page provides a basic pointer. Notability really shouldn't be an issue. The quality of the article is an issue, since this is only the stubbiest stub, but I cannot offer to do more as I have no information myself. But even as it stands it seems better than nothing. --Doric Loon 05:07, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but you should try to find some sources. try Google and google books as a start. DGG (talk) 05:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... the website have provided permission for the use of it's text - http://www.saltiresociety.org.uk/contact/ --Aly.saltiresociety (talk) 11:12, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nevertheless, material copied from the society's website is likely to be overly promotional in tone for inclusion in Wikipedia. Thanks, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 13:21, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Since the article existed before any material from that source was added, deletion of the whole article is in any case not the way to go. --Doric Loon (talk) 21:39, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
