This article only adresses the NGA publication, while there are numerous other ones (Admiralty, SHOM, ...). I think this article should be a general one explaining what all pilots are, linking to specific ones. Regards, BoH (talk) 20:33, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concur. This article is very parochial and has no references. See: Hydrographic Office (2015). "Admiralty Nautical Products and Services – Paper publications". United Kingdom. Retrieved 2016-05-19. Often referred to as Pilots, Sailing Directions are designed for use by the merchant mariner on all classes of ocean-going vessels with essential information on all aspects of navigation. Sailing Directions are complementary to ADMIRALTY Standard Nautical Charts and provide worldwide coverage in 75 volumes. User:HopsonRoad 13:45, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
