I have twice reverted uncited additions claiming that certain "new" RR models are in fact "rebadged derivatives" of olde engines. The problem is that these statements are not based on reliable sources that explicitly say thay new engines are just "rebadged derivatives". (Given that the FAA document is from 2000, I was not surprised to find no mention of the RR500 in it.) If RR is falsely presenting older designs as "new" (not just improved derivitives), then that needs to be told. However, making such caims without citing explicit reliable sources that say that is not allowed, and further, could cause WP to be liable for false claims. All of these claims may well be true, but we muct cite reliable sources that actually say those things. - BillCJ (talk) 07:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The current version is here: http://www.rolls-royce.com/~/media/Files/R/Rolls-Royce/documents/customers/civil-aerospace/rr500-turboprop-tcm92-11545.pdf

It is dated 2009. Certification is 'Expected 2012'. Is this engine going anywhere?
