Un-declining
[edit]On second thought, Gravhaz, I see no reason this shouldn't just go into draftspace. I'm going to do some more maintenance and then I'll move it over. For reference, I'm copying my review comment as it'll still be pertinent:
This looks pretty good—the one thing I think that could help is maybe some better organization (see Wikipedia:Writing better articles) among other language improvements (I've copyedited it a bit to help with that), as well as some references for the paragraph that begins with "The very first use". If you haven't already seen, you might want to check out Rockfall § Mitigation as well.
