As of May 2021, Prinz Emanuel von und zu Lichtenstein - austrian citizen - the owner of the castle, is involved in a poaching scandal regarding the illegal killing in Romania of the largest living bear in Europe (named Arthur).

As a reaction, large number of furios Romanians rightfully posted negative online reviews of the castle, discouraging potential visitors by arguing that by visiting they will support cruelty against wild animals. Imack1453 (talk) 19:17, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The king of bears in Romania, shot down by a prince from "Liechtenstein" (read Austria) , writes Le Figaro.
