Hey BeanieFan, I have a question before I complete this review: are we talking about semi-professional sports or minor league football (gridiron)? The Charlotte Observer clip you have there says "semi-pro" and the Patriots alumni page says "minor pro football". – Muboshgu (talk) 00:00, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- I think its both. The ACFL was minor league, the Boston Park League and EFL (mentioned in his Patriots bio as leagues played in) appear to be semi-pro ([1]). BeanieFan11 (talk) 00:17, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  - @BeanieFan11 and Muboshgu: More of a drive-by comment, but I actually wonder if focusing on playing for three teams at once would be a more interesting angle than the 17 teams thing.     - Whether or not we go with the "17, including three at a time", or "three at a time and 17 total", I'd like to clear up the semipro/minor league part of the hook first.       - I was not able to determine the number of minor vs. semi-pro teams. I personally think it would be fine to say "at least 17 minor league" because I've seen in the past minor league teams referred to as semi-pro and semi-pro as minor league teams, although if you want I could change it to "17 total minor league and semi-pro."     - About the "three at once" hook suggestion: I would be fine with that, although I think my original hook is the most interesting (because it mentions both three at a time and 17 total, which is a ridiculous number of teams in the American football world). To the review itself, the article is new and long, sourced throughout. It appears to be written neutrally, QPQ is complete. The proposed hooks are interesting and cited inline. I don't think the ACFL was really THE "NFL's minor league at the time". The Atlantic Coast Football League article just says they had working agreements. Done

- It seems to be verified by part two of both sources.
"Buffington was hired by Babe Parilli as defensive coordinator and head scout of the New England Steamrollers, of the newly formed Arena Football League (AFL), in 1988.[2][5][10] He followed Parilli to the Denver Dynamite in 1989, staying as defensive coordinator" I don't see that stuff in ref 2? Done
- This ref verifies most of it - ref 2 also shows him following Parilli - the other part (head scout) is verified by 10.
  - None of those say defensive coordinator of the Steamrollers or Dynamite. I cant get to page C3 though? I logged into Newspapers.com too and I can't figure out how to do it?
    - @WikiOriginal-9: C3 is just a clipping which should be accessible to everyone - does that link not work for you? (are you at the plain newspapers.com url, or http://www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/ ?) I know the AF2 article is titled in uppercase but that is incorrect. That is like if iPhone was called IPhone. I've been meaning to change that for years if you check the talk page. Manual of Style editors keep moving it back. The league was always called af2. Suggest changing it to the "the af2's New Haven Ninjas" Done

"after which he retired" that source doesn't say he retired unless part of that source is missing due to webarchive problems because there are some other notes I had about that source above. Done
