Musical Style

[edit]

Would be improved by a separate section describing where Dering's music fits with his contemporaries (e.g. Monteverdi), and how it progressed, especially since he spans the transitional period from Renaissance to Baroque. D Anthony Patriarche (talk) 08:26, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you can refer to a reliable source it would be lovely to include this material. Cnbrb (talk) 00:07, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Most of my library, such as it is, is in storage. Unless I can find some ebooks or online articles (which a quick Google didn't show), we need a real musicologist here! I have a question posted on a couple of groups to ID a (possibly early) Dering anthem, homophonic & in English -- but that's hardly enough to build a section on! Thanks - actually I did manage to refer to some sources which very briefly mention that his compositional technique anticipated the Baroque style, so that's a start. Cnbrb (talk) 10:11, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
