[edit]- I would question that statement that as the "senior-ranking prisoner, she took responsibility for other POWs". As a doctor, a non-combat specialization, she would not exercise power of command. So she would be junior to any combat branch officer present.203.184.41.226 (talk) 05:48, 25 August 2012 (UTC) That a matter of several factors. As a doctor, if she was still capable (a guess on my part for her not capable at time), both her and the captors have responsibilities and expectations laid out under the Geneva Convention to give medical aid to others needing it. If the junior combat officers and the enemy accept it - as senior by rank, she can, and she should exercise power of command. Wfoj2 (talk) 23:03, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
