Region flag

[edit]

The flag of Rhône-Alpes recently added by user Stevage is incorrect. It is a fancy flag created by private people, it has no official recognition whatsoever. The only official flag is the Regional Council flag, which I am re-uploading now. Please do not change. Hardouin 15:46, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ithink it is better to change logo image by the one located on the French version: http://fr.wiki.x.io/wiki/Rh%C3%B4ne-Alpes —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matcan (talkcontribs) 21:49, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've decided to create a portal of Lyon (Portal:Lyon, It's the first time I'm creating a portal and in English so it will be long =). The french wikipedia portal is Portail:Grand Lyon If you want to help me on this difficult task you are welcome. Lulu97417 (talk) 01:56, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism section's neutrality

[edit]

The tourism section of this article is writtwn like a travel guide and requires a style revision, specifically the first part of the section (the part before Lakes). The tone by which this part reads tries to appeal to readers, attempting to do so with language such as,

"Enthusiasts of art and culture will not be disappointed by the region’s Villes d’Art . . . And last but not least, connoisseurs of good food and wine will be spoilt for choice by the range of local specialties available to taste along with a Beaujolais or a Côtes du Rhône, and by the sheer number of famous restaurants (with Paul Bocuse at the top of the list) in the region."

The selection provided tries to appeal to readers with alluring descriptions of fine culture and excellent gastronomy. The information in the part before Lakes, located in the Tourism section of the article, should be presented in an unbiased manner so as to try to maintain a neutral point of view. Yes, that happens a lot in articles on geographic locations. Enthusiastic editors forget (or don't get) that this is an encyclopedia... I've tried to dial it back on several articles I've come across, but it requires ongoing effort. Get out the scalpel if you have the time and inclination--there's a lot trimming to do.
