Talk:Research participant

Purpose of this article
[edit]There are lots of articles about clinical research, medical research, social research, and many others which discuss human subject research. All of them need an explanation of what constitutes a human subject. The outline which I propose for this article is a description of the characteristics of a human subject, and then a section on what is the most relevant characteristic - rights. Legal regulation frames interaction between experimenters and research participants as a set of participant rights which researchers respect. A lot of articles already explain parts of these rights, but this information ought not be repeated in each article and anyway this is a broad subject which merits its own article. All discussion about this should center in this article and only field differences should be in the articles referring to this one. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:48, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
Request for sources
[edit]There are a huge number of sources explaining various aspects of research participant rights. Can anyone recommend the comprehensive, exhaustive source which describes everything about research participants and gives a global perspective of their rights?
