The section Industrial & tourist railways could have the Pingxi, Neiwan and Jiji lines added to it. They are all branch lines operated by Taiwan Railways and popular with tourists. Davidreid 01:23, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

The above table has the following problems:
- Vertical layout would cause space issues once more systems are added
- Referring to Taiwanese Hokkien as goes against Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese)#Languages or dialects
- Does not make a clear distinction between opened systems and u/c ones
- Opening dates for u/c systems are expected dates and un-sourced; term 'date opening' grammatically incorrect for opened systems; dmy format does not sort correctly while ymd does
- For Taipei, does not note that stations include doubly counted ones
- 'MRT' and 'MCS' are not commonly used terms; distinction between MRT and MCS not notable enough for the average reader (e.g. Taipei is usually considered to just have 5 lines)
- Service area for New Taipei is inconsistent (Tamsui is a district of New Taipei)

In response
- There are only two or three other systems are planned or in construction in Taiwan (Hsinchu and Tainan). There is no space issues if these two or three more systems are added. And, I can see an obvious space issue if putting other languages to the horizontal table.
- Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese)#Languages or dialects states "The best name for each particular variety often depends on the article and its context", so there is no violation here.
- to 7 can be fixed by modifying the table. For 4, wikipedia has a Template:Dts that can sort dmy and mdy correctly.
Also, the Taipei Metro's 117 stations does not count Maokong Gondola stations. Fizikanauk (talk) 18:02, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Left / Right
[edit]Mention which systems "drive on the left" (TRA), and which "drive on the right" (HSR, MRT). Jidanni (talk) 14:56, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
Capitalization format for article titles about individual lines
[edit]I've noticed that the naming format for articles about individual lines in each urban rail transit system in Taiwan uses the format "[name] line", with "line" always being lowercase. However, it seems as though each transit operator refers to each of their lines with the "Line" part of their names capitalized as if it were part of the name and thus a proper noun (like for example "Bannan line" is usually displayed as "Bannan Line" in English). In articles about color-based lines (Red line, Orange line, Green line, etc.) this leads to in my opinion a very awkward naming scheme, especially compared to other urban rail transport systems elsewhere around the world, where the norm is to capitalize "Line" after the color name. Thoughts? OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 07:37, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
