Winamac Southern?

[edit]

Does the Winamac Southern Railway operate its own line, or is the only service from the Central Railroad of Indianapolis trackage rights? --NE2 11:58, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other possible subsidiaries

[edit]

STB approved Cape Fear Railways in 1997, but it doesn't look like they acquired it. A spinoff of Western Illinois Railway from the TP&W was approved in 2002, but this instead became part of the Keokuk Junction Railway. Other inactive subsidiaries that were probably never used are Boston Central Freight Railroad, California Western Railroad, and Idaho Western Railway. Quebec Railway was 26.3%-owned by RaiLink, but RailAmerica sold its interest in 4Q 2000. RailAmerica acquired a minority interest in the Great Southern Railway in October 1997, but I don't know if they still have it. --NE2 14:38, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Labeling RailAmerica as defunct

[edit]

The Genesee and Wyoming's acquisition of RailAmerica appears to end all of the corporate functions under the RA name. The G&W terminated RA's website and put mentions of RA's shortlines to the G&W website. To me, I think RA should be a defunct railroad company by now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ctempire (talkcontribs) 19:43, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
