Requested move
- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus. However, the majority (not all) of the reliable sources, including the official trailer, state Racha. Some, such as Muvi.com, use both titles. Bgwhite (talk) 05:23, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Racha (film) → Rachcha (film) – Many References call it 'Rachcha' and some references in this article dont seem to be valid. This article should be changed from 'Racha' to 'Rachcha'

Support: a lot more Google hits for "Racha" but it's not clear that any of them refer to this movie (I see restaurants and a type of noodle on page 1), and IMDB says Rachcha.
- IMDB is just as unreliable as Wikipedia..it is written by people just like wikipedia. Strike Σagle 13:44, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- True, just didn't see much else to go on. Redacting my support in light of the movie poster image.--Xiaphias (talk) 20:44, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

- Close now The official poster clearly says Racha...please note that the nominator's previous moves have received severe opposes and are currenty being reviewed Strike Σagle 13:44, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- Why do you have to bring that up always? I am doing the right thing by seeking consensus before moving. Engough of rubbing it on face. Nagarjuna198 (talk)
- Not sure why Tamilians like "Strike Eagle" always behave this way.Nagarjuna198 (talk)
- First of all you moved the page with edit summary "EVERY source calls it as the latter" which is not true. Many sources in the article calls it "Rachcha". I dont know what is your agenda in moving the pages without even looking at the sources.Nagarjuna198 (talk)

- Comment - the official posters say Racha while IMDB has Rachcha. We should consider offical pages so I don't think the move is needed/necessary. Tolly4bolly 13:50, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose: Per official poster! --Tito Dutta (contact) 21:36, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Agree: Fair enough. Since poster says Racha. There is no need to move. Nagarjuna198 (talk)- Question రచ్చ means, "rumpus" "uproar", as I don't have dictionary to hand what would రచ with a single ch mean? In ictu oculi (talk) 03:03, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Answer: I agree with you. రచ్చ = Rachcha and రచ =Racha. But community decided otherwise. Nagarjuna198 (talk)
- The Telugu alphabet form in the poster clearly has two "ch" letters and says "ra-ch-cha". Anthony Appleyard (talk)
- Thanks Nagarjuna198, Anthony, yes as you say and రచ్చ is a commonish word. రచ however means nothing (I had to check that with Nagarjuna198 since I don't have a dictionary handy). Normally on en.wp we make an effort to be accurate and precise. Which is why the lead to Racha is:
- Racha (also Ratcha, Georgian: რაჭა, Račʼa) is a highland area in western Georgia,...
- I can't really see the reason for deliberately misspelling Telugu names. And to me the argument above that a scribbled bit of pseudo-English transliteration on a Tollywood movie poster is "official" is bizarre.
- Why can't we spell Telugu words and names accurately on en.wp? Where is it written is stone that we have to hoover-up wrong spellings from the internet and repeat them? In ictu oculi (talk) 08:08, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- *Support In ictu oculi. Also I strongly believe that indic scripts should be used for films. I can understand why indic scripts shouldn't be used for names of persons. But for films indic script and transliterations is must. Nagarjuna198 (talk)
- * If you read between the letters "Ramcharan". They made the spelling to sound like Ramcharan. Need not be correct spelling. And where did "Strike Eagle" get the poster from? A blog!
- * If you google search Rachcha. Not only IMDB but also many movie sites call it "Rachcha". see what you get from google Racha(nothing related to movie at all).Nagarjuna198 (talk)

- Support - thank you for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed the blue blur was RAmCHAran. That makes the poster design some graphic game, fails WP:IRS and not a good source. Also to not have the Telugu in the lead here is now ridiculous, in my view, but since the ban doesn't cover the infobox have inserted there instead. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:07, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Has any of you seen the movie? Is Ram Charan nicknamed Rachcha in the movie anywhere? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:52, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- I have seen the movie and Ram Charan is not nicknamed Rachcha. Also, generally it would be weird if someone is nicknamed "rumpus" "uproar" Nagarjuna198 (talk)
- On the movie poster the Roman alphabet text 'RAMCHARAN' is small diagonally between the two diagonal upstrokes of the Telugu alphabet text. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:56, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- That is true. I have seen many posters with 'RAMCHARAN' over Telugu alphabets. And "Strike Eagle"'s source fails WP:IRS and not a good source as it is a blog. Nagarjuna198 (talk) 10:33, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- First of all "Strike Eagle" moved the page from "Rachcha" to "Racha" with edit summary "EVERY source calls it as the latter" which is not true. Many sources in the article calls it "Rachcha" also. I think he wants to push his point of view. Nagarjuna198 (talk) 10:36, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

- I hadn't seen that. That effectively makes this RM an automatic restore per WP:BRD. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:40, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Since Nagarjuna198 seems to be relatively new editor, (though I disliked his editing and specially article moving pattern, see WT:INB for details, some tips for him. In my opinion, if you want a 180 degree turn in this RM, or totally discard our (the people who are opposing this RM), try to find out one/more/all of the following—
- CBFC certificate— you'll get it in the first minute of the film's video. Your local film club/library may have copy of the film's CBFC certificate. Or see if there is any video of the film at YouTube. See a discussion where a film certificate was used as proof Talk:Waarish#Requested_move
- Prove that the poster is unofficial/collect another poster: The comment about the poster above is a weak one. A point does not become convincing when you say a poster's source is blogspot, but to make it convincing you have EITHER prove that the poster above is not official and an artistic creation (like the newest Dabaang 2 Poster) and thus has no value OR show that the film has several posters/ DVD covers and different poster/DVD covers and different poster has different spellings. Again see Talk:Waarish#Requested_move where the point was presented and was requested to consider to overlook the spelling in the official poster. --Tito Dutta (contact) 21:22, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Also there is a practice of abbreviating names in Telugu. Example. (వారణాసి రఘునందన్)"Vāraṇāsi Raghunaṃdan" is abbreviated as "Vā.Ra"(వార). So even if it is spelled 'Racha" in Eagle's poster, it is to refer Ramcharan.Nagarjuna198 (talk) 22:13, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- See this when he got award for the movie TV9 Award(Rachcha)Nagarjuna198 (talk) 21:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Now the Certificate calls it RachhaNagarjuna198 (talk) 21:59, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Uff why did you upload it on the movie poster? See the movie poster copy here --Tito Dutta (contact) 22:06, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- You can go ahead and delete after this discussion. All I request from you is assumption of good faith in editors. I am just striving make the spellings correct so that users get correct understanding of how to pronounce the name of the film.Nagarjuna198 (talk) 22:17, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

- @TrioDutta: I have given the information that you needed. Are you willing to support the move?Nagarjuna198 (talk) 18:32, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- Close : We have established that రచ్చ = Rachcha. Many sources(TV9 Award(Rachcha)) calls it Rachcha and CBFC calls it Rachha and some other sources call it "Racha". In view of different spelling from different sources and "Rachcha" being widely used spelling (even google search) Please move the page from Racha (film) -> Rachcha (film).Nagarjuna198 21:33, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Initial comments
Lead
- "...is a 2012 Indian Telugu action film directed by Sampath Nandi. He co-wrote the film's script along with Paruchuri Brothers" - may sound better as is a 2012 Indian Telugu action film directed by Sampath Nandi and co-written by the Paruchuri Brothers or something similar? It's just so that the prose is tightened
- "under their banner Megaa Super Good Films, It features Ram Charan" - 'it' doesn't need to be capitalised
- Rephrased. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- "who make crucial cameo appearance" - a crucial cameo appearance. Just curious, is a cameo appearance crucial to the film?
- Yes. Both the cameos are crucial to the film. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- "The film focuses on the attempts made by Raj to woo a medico" - might be just me, but I never understood what 'woo' means. Also, can medico be linked to medical student (if that's correct)?
- Rephrased and linked. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- "The film received four nominations at 60th Filmfare Awards South" - at the 60th
- "but could not win any" - would sound better as but did not win any
- The lead needs to be slightly better re-organised in order to comply per WP:LEAD. I would recommend merging one paragraph into another as that would create a better flow. I was originally going to suggest the plot paragraph be merged into the first one, but I think that the last paragraph of the lead would simply be better off being merged with the one before it?
- Yes, but i divided them so for easy reading. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Body
- "Raju (Ram Charan) is a Hyderabad-based betting fetish" - I don't understand what this means? Could be re-worded to gambler?
- Rephrased as you said. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- " who support his means of living" - supports
- "She was confirmed to play the role of a rich brat who falls for a poor guy" - informal here
- Rephrased. But, not sure that l'm right. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- "adding that i would be an impactful one" - it
- "Charan and Tamannaah were filming for a song sequence on a boat and the park's deputy director Sanjay Kumar insisted that the duo should use life jackets" - would sound better as Charan and Tamannaah were filming for a song sequence on a boat when the park's deputy director Sanjay Kumar insisted that the duo should use life jackets
- "After few arguments" - might sound better as "after some disagreements"
- Rephrased. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- " After completing shoot for the song Dillaku Dillaku" - the shoot
- Rephrased. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

This is a well researched and comprehensive article, but I did spot some prose issues along the way. It shouldn't be too hard to address them, so once they're all clarified then this should have no problem passing. Thanks! JAGUAR 16:46, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
