American influence

[edit]

The 1965 British law was similar to a number of American laws, starting in 1957. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.194.200 (talk) 16:17, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The 1965 United Kingdom Act is similar in its "anti discrimination" position to the 1964 American Civil Rights Act, but it also includes criminalising "incitement to racial hatred" - such a provision would be forbidden in the United States as it would be against the First Amendment (Freedom of Speech) of the Constitution of the United States.2A02:C7C:E085:8D00:C55C:95CE:1DD0:8135 (talk) 15:15, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
