Merger proposal
[edit]I'm proposing that Anti-submarine boom (Lake Macquarie WWII) be merged into this article as the boom appears to have formed part of this base's defences and I do not think that it the boom is at all notable in isolation. My rationale for this view is that the boom was a temporary construction to defend an important, but relatively minor, base. --Nick Dowling (talk) 06:50, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Nick, I beleieve that the boom was also part of the southern perimeter defensive network for Fortress Newcastle. 12:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Newm30 (talk • contribs)
- OK, could I suggest that you create a Fortress Newcastle article for this material then? Belmont Anti-Tank Ditch could also be included in it - I don't think that it's individually notable either (many cities had large numbers of such ditches during the WW2 era, and they're not individually notable). --Nick Dowling (talk) 10:14, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
