List of Movies

[edit]

List of Movies released after 2012 is already there in article List of Indian Punjabi films. So here it is being repeated. I am considering to delete it from here and rather write the brief discussion about movies in a paragraph form. So that list is exclusively kept in a different article. This is an opinion from User:Lovish moon

Negative Point-Probblem with punjabi cinema is its budget, just imagine from a state like punjab,a normal bollywood movie collect around 50 lacs to 4 crore(depend upon merits of a film and collection) and a bollywood movie release with around 20 to 50 prints in punjab,so just imagine about a punjabi film, which is having budget around 1 crore to 3 crore, and its prints will release only in punjab and even that in few numbers around 8 to 12.It will be hard for that kind of film to recover even its cost.Harbhajan-Manmohan team's films do well, coz they are having great feedback, they are having goodwill in punjab, and this team's film release with more prints. So this team's movie made profits. Its box office is much better in overseas.Looking at Gurdas Mann,he too was having this goodwill, but after demise of manoj punj things are diffrent.Manoj made three masterpieaces for gurdas and all did well. But someone elce's project yaariyan could not do well, but did well in overseas. In punjab a harbhajan mann movie can get crowd on its plus point and can turn out to be a winner. If film's budget is in lakhs, than things will be better, coz films like majajan and mehndi wale hath were made in lakhs and did well.Majajan and Mehndi Wale Hath were not new wave of cinema, but having commercial feedback. But bali sagoo's film or Ik Jind Ik Jaan(more than one crore) could not do well.Filmmakers should understand one more thing, that they should sign kind of leading actors, who are having good fan following.Someone like rajat bedi cant open a film on his shoulder.Babbu Maan can do wonder, but need good subjects. At the same time film makers should come with new ideas too.

Gugu/Guggu Gill

[edit]

Is the actor's name correctly written as "Gugu Gill" or "Guggu Gill"? I made the article consistent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.177.95 (talk) 15:14, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help Please!

[edit]

I have started creating the article List of Indian film series. I need your help in adding the film series in Punjabi language (if any). Since there might be a lot of them consisting of 2 films, my opinion is that only those film series with 3 or more films should be added (all of which have been released only). Please feel free to come and add more and do the required corrections. Once fully created, this list will be highly informative. All future opinions and comments should be posted here or on my talk page only please since I would not be watching this talk page. - Jayadevp13 17:16, 26 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppets

[edit]

I've protected this because of the IPs who care clearly (through technical evidence) Peeta Singh socks. Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Peeta Singh deals with some of his accounts but his IP addresses aren't shown there - he is able to use IP addresses from all over the world which is why the geolocation is different between IPs. Split

[edit]

@Cyphoidbomb and Kailash29792: Should this article be split into Punjabi film industries for India and Pakistan? Both are different entities operating separately. Just like Bengali cinema in West Bengal and Bangladesh. This article seems to focus solely on the Indian side of Punjabi cinema, which this article was about before being merged/morphed (mostly by the disruptive editor User:Peeta Singh now blocked) with Lollywood, the name of Punjabi cinema based in Lahore [now sometimes also applied to Pakistani/Urdu cinema].

I suggest splitting this article into Pakistani Punjabi cinema/Cinema of Punjab (Pakistan)/Lollywood for Pakistani Punjabi cinema and Indian Punjabi cinema/Cinema of Punjab (India)/Pollywood (India) (Pollywood also refers to Pashto cinema) for the Indian side or the current title can be retained for India as the main application of the term now (consider the case of Tamil cinema and Sri Lankan Tamil cinema). I previously redirected Lollywood (for duplication of content) but that can be restored. Gotitbro (talk) 20:59, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also pinging Deepcruze as a significant contributor. And M.Billoo2000, Captain_Assassin! for further inputs. Gotitbro (talk) 09:15, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

yes it can be done Deepcruze (talk) 14:39, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A split is not necessary. Sardarmann (talk) 07:04, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing no significant reason for opposing this, I'll be restoring the Lollywood article and adding a hatnote for that in the artile. Gotitbro (talk) 13:59, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Punjabi cinemaPunjab, India cinema – Article only mentions the cinema in Punjab India and not in Pakistan that has its own article at Lollywood 🌸 1.Ayana 🌸 (talk) 10:04, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this page only cover Indian Punjabi Cinema and not Pakistani Punjabi Cinema even though that is also Punjabi Cinema? Danishjaveed (talk) 08:45, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
