My suggested simplification
[edit]@Peace in balkans: I do not do edit wars, so I take this to the talk page. The edit summary accompanying your revert was a bit on the rough side, to put it mildly. Whatever happened to WP:AGF? As far as I can recall, our roads have not crossed before. Luckily, I have a long experience editing in the Balkan area, so I have grown a thick hide, but I would suggest that you avoid this style in edit summaries the first time you come across an editor.
You try to find ways to avoid the adjective North Macedonian against the consensus.
I must admit that I fail to see what consensus I am up against here, but my intention was not to avoid anything, but to simplify. Having said that, I do not see why it should be wrong to avoid a disputed description, as long as the resulting text is clear and correct. This sacrifices the quality of the text...
The quality of the text was exactly what I was trying to do something about. In my edit summary, I asked (retorically) if it was "necessary to mention the name of the state five times in the first paragraph". I frankly cannot see what has been lost in quality from the currest text to my suggested text....for your personal biased opinion...
Please see WP:NPA. Unfortunately, edit summaries cannot be edited or redacted, but it is always possible to apologise....that is againnst WP:MOSMAC.
Please explain what it is in my suggested version that is against WP:MOSMAC. --T*U (talk) 10:46, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @TU-nor: North Macedonian is not a disputed description, it is part of WP:MOSMAC. You can always find the excuse to say that you improve the text by removing the adjective North Macedonian, but if you don't show me examples of other pages where you have added the adjective North Macedonian, then you cannot convince me. As you can see I used ping in a discussion about WP:MOSMAC. I have reported you and other users who violate WP:MOSMAC by trying to find excuses. Please improve Wikipedia. There is a reason that languages have adverbs, verbs, nouns, adjectives. It is not natural to stop using adjectives for a country.
- In any case, let's assume that you really want to improve Wikipedia, and you also accept WP:MOSMAC. So I assume that you would be happy to add the adjective North Macedonian in all pages as explained in WP:MOSMAC. Are you ready to do that? I want to see it.
- WP:MOSMAC says it is recommended to use the longer form where ambiguity might be an issue (especially on first introducing the topic).
- Would you like to apply this rule to all pages of North Macedonia, by adding North Macedonian when you introduce the topic?
- If you do it, I will accept that you really try to improve Wikipedia, and I will apologize for blaming you. Otherwise, please stop it! Peace in balkans (talk) 10:59, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Peace in balkans: I see that WP:AGF does not ring a bell. I have nothing to add, but I will repeat my direct question: Please explain what it is in my suggested version that is against WP:MOSMAC. --T*U (talk) 11:57, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @TU-nor: Okay then, good faith! Will you help me to improve the quality of other pages about North Macedonia based on WP:MOSMAC or you care only about removing the adjective North Macedonian from this specific page? Peace in balkans (talk) 12:08, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Peace in balkans: I will make improvements when I can, whether it means adding or removing certain adjectives or not. But you still haven't explained what it is in my suggested version here that is against WP:MOSMAC. --T*U (talk) 13:51, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @TU-nor: I don't have any problem with this particular edit. As explained, I can accept it. Your edit is part of a bigger problem caused by people who violate WP:MOSMAC by removing North Macedonian from every page. So it's not this single edit, but the combination of all edits by a clique of people who push an agenda against WP:MOSMAC. So I suggest to those people who remove the adjective North Macedonian with the excuse of improving the page (regardless whether this is true or not), to do the same with other pages. Do you think that is normal that there are 2-3 examples of pages with the adjective North Macedonian? WP:MOSMAC says in which case North Macedonian should be used, but this is not done. Do you think this is a good thing? So maybe you are right about this specific case, but I am talking about improving all pages and not this specific one. I know that here we care about this specific page, but this is another excuse, because every time we should introduce the adjective North Macedonian some other user can show up and propose another version that doesn't used any adjective. This hides the problem, it doesn't solve it. So this is what you did it here, and that's why I didn't like it. I hope this clarifies everything. Peace in balkans (talk) 14:31, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Peace in balkans: Excuse me for being a bit insistent, but there is quite a big gap between what you say here and your specific edit summary about "this single edit":
This sacrifices the quality of the text for your personal biased opinion that is againnst WP:MOSMAC.
That is not a "suggestion" about what to do in other pages, nor is it directed against "a clique of people", it is a pure and clean personal attack against one specific editor. I am finished here! --T*U (talk) 15:33, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

- @Jingiby: @Local hero: you are also invited here to prove if you really care about improving Wikipedia or you find excuses to removed the adjective North Macedonian from every page against WP:MOSMAC. I am looking forward to see all of you guys to add the adjective North Macedonian to every page about North Macedonia according to WP:MOSMAC that says: it is recommended to use the longer form where ambiguity might be an issue (especially on first introducing the topic). So let's work together and improve all pages about North Macedonia. Are you in guys? Peace in balkans (talk) 11:21, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- Peace in balkans, please stop using repeatedly North Macedonia/n in every sentence. Thanks. Jingiby (talk) 11:25, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Jingiby: is that all you have to say? what do you mean repeatedly? Have you seen me using it anywhere else? Or am I the one who introduced here? The text used twice the adjective Macedonian, so now has to become North Macedonian. Where is the problem? Please tell me... are you ready to improve all pages about North Macedonia, or you just focus on deleting North Macedonian from this specific page? I will accept your change if you show me that you are ready to add North Macedonian to other pages where necessary. Otherwise, I will report you again and again until you stop it. Enough with your nationalism. Peace in balkans (talk) 11:30, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
