Nathan Messer's nationality

Tagging in @UncleTupelo1 and other contributors like @RRex4949, @American Money and @GrouchoPython here. I was wondering about Messer's nationality myself — he was born in England and Providence identifies him as such, but the Hearts say he's from the United States, and the 2024 Rhode Island FC season page has him as an American. Should we default to his birth nation of England? Go with the club? Not sure what the WP:Football consensus is on this. MAINEiac4434 (talk) 15:35, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Worth noting that USL League One's own press release has him as born in London, England. He was raised in Maryland, but hasn't represented the US at any level. UncleTupelo1 (talk) 15:41, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
