Why this article exists

This is for the deletionists out there: This article exists because it had over 20 legitimate inbound red-links and had a circulation of millions. That makes it notable. davidwr (talk) 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Date of first issue?

The article text gives a date of September 1899 for the magazine's first issue, while the sidebar says it was September 1889. Which is correct? 24.239.54.219 (talk) 20:40, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Needs expansion

This article needs:

Publication information for its entire history.
List of major contributors and contributions. Some are listed on the What Links Here page.
Historical significance of the magazine. What makes it notable besides its wide circulation and the fact that it has over 20 inbound links?
An example cover or two. The earlier the better to avoid copyright issues.
Changes in the magazine's content over the years
