[edit]I came here for an explanation of what a PSL is. This article helped me not one whit. What does "a license to buy tickets for a certain seat" mean? A license from the state? A reservation from include a quote by an owner about how the PSL is different from just raising ticket prices? Sharpvisuals (talk) 11:59, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Think of it as a cover charge -- you pay five bucks to get into the bar, but then you gotta pay more if you want to drink. Only difference is, you can leave the bar and give the "cover" to someone else, so they have the right to spend money there. It's not quite a down payment on a ticket, as it does not contribute to paying for the tickets. Nor is it quite an imaginary fee, since you must pay it to get a tickets. It is different from raising ticket prices because it is a one-time fee. Is it a way to get more money from fans? Of course, duh.Johnelwayrules (talk) 14:52, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

This article is pretty bad. No mention of the Oakland Raider fiasco? I think for many people that was the first time they had ever heard of a PSL. 94.195.201.23 (talk) 18:38, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
This page looks like Rick Ohanian may have played some hand in making it. I don't know if proposing something in a letter to the editor equates to "inventing" it unless that proposal is actually referenced by later adopters. 208.66.212.230 (talk) 01:01, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Basically you are pay X amount of dollars for the right to buy tickets to that sports team games or in certain instances you get the right to buy tickets to any event held at that arena. Its a policy that is justified to help owners defer the costs of building stadiums. I personally think its BS but thats just my own take on it.
Why should I have to fork over 10 grand for the "privilege" to BUY tickets? It also makes no sense because public money still goes to fund stadiums. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.26.119 (talk) 04:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
Bad redirect
