Merger proposal

[edit]

I agree. I thought I had searched adequately before creating Penicillin binding protein; Clearly, I was wrong. Penicillin binding protein should redirect to Penicillin binding protein as it currently contains the most information. Rob cowie 20:24, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

External images

[edit]

Both pictures in the 'Illustrations' section shouldn't be external. --80.59.134.144 (talk) 14:43, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, they no longer work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.23.229 (talk) 16:41, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the illustrations links as they led to a broken URL. If some turd puts it back, that they are a moron —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.184.30.134 (talk) 23:56, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, the hyperlink with the Spratt reference points to the wrong journal. BobertWABC (talk) 19:46, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Appendix

[edit]

Is the appendix a valid quotation and thus permissible under copyright laws? RJFJR (talk) 14:08, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also not sure it is informative to the general reader, our target audience so I moved it here. RJFJR (talk) 18:08, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(This table may be found in the original article by clicking the 'Spratt 1977' link, which refers to the reference of the same name.)

Molecular weights and relative abundance of the penicillin binding proteins in
E. coli (Spratt 1977)
Protein Apparent molecular weight Binding of penicillin( % total ) Molecules/cell
1 91,000 8.1 230
2 66,000 0.7 20
3 60,000 1.9 50
4 49,000 4.0 110
5 42,000 64.7 1,800
6 40,000 20.6 570

Accuracy?

[edit]

Not all penicillin binding proteins are DD-transpeptidases. [1] This article would benefit from review by someone more familiar with antibiotic pharmacology.82.16.104.196 (talk) 17:38, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
