I am Paul Mauffray, as you can see from my login info. I am the creator of the wiki page which is about me, and I am the one who requested that the page be protected from repeated vandalism. Now that I wish to make updates, I can not see how to be allowed to edit. Did I protect the page from myself too?

Indeed you did, but it's generally best for people to avoid editing their own articles anyway. What would you like to see updated? Provide some proposed changes (preferably of the verbatim before-and-after variety) verifiable using reliable secondary sources, and I or someone else will be glad to help. You can edit the page when your account becomes autoconfirmed. This should be in the next day or so, since you just recently hit the threshold (account 4 days old and 10 edits). However, as the other editor mentioned, its not usually a good idea to edit a page about yourself, although it is not prohibited. See the page WP:COI for guidance.
