Inappropriate Diction

Can anyone agree that the phrase:

Making his acting debut ... the sandy-haired, blue-eyed young performer pursued an acting career...

Sounds silly and not unlike a professional biography, or is it just me?

Edit: I just searched the phrase, and it is from some sort of official bio. See Google Results. Anybody interested or qualified to do a rewrite?PaulAitken (talk) 04:05, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
