The Parade
[edit]The article was moved in 2020 from "The Parade, Leamington Spa" with the summary "Removed erroneous definite article throughout. The street is called simply "Parade" on maps and resources such as the Royal Mail's postcode database". I agree with the move but not the edit summary. In prose, the subject is usually referred to as the Parade with a lower-case t, so following WP:THE, the title should not start with The. However a check of recent news sources and a council document shows that "the Parade" is the WP:COMMONNAME in prose. TSventon (talk) 09:25, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]@Amakuru: do you agree that I have now added sufficient citations? There is some uncited material, but I don't think it is particularly controversial. The sentence about the former Regency Arcade is unreferenced, but could probably be removed. TSventon (talk) 12:28, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
- Ah yes, that's great thanks. As you say, a couple more cites would be needed if this was to be main-page ready and all the rest of it, but happy to remove the template. — Amakuru (talk) 12:40, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
