Dealer strategy

[edit]

For the dealer's hand, is there a deterministic set of rules for pairing the tiles or is it up to the dealer? If the former, can you add the rules to the article? If the latter, please add this information to the article. For this question does it matter whether the dealer is played by the house? 216.66.5.46 (talk) 12:03, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Explicit ranking

[edit]

It looks like there are only 136 possible pairs of tiles. I think the article would benefit from a list of them in order by which beats which. 𝕃eegrc (talk) 13:23, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This article seems like a good candidate for having an In Popular Culture section. For starters, I know that there is an episode of White Collar that has the player fold a specific winning hand as a way of signalling that they want an illegal meeting. Similarly, the fictional game Pai Sho in the TV show Avatar The Last Airbender had a similar practice where players play in a specific non-winning way as a way of signalling an intention to set a meeting. I'm sure there are many additional examples I am not personally familiar with. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.206.35.98 (talk) 15:53, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
