I'm not sure enough about reports on tunnel safety to edit the article and wonder if anyone else knows more? When I search for TranzAlpine journeys over the next few days I get the message "Capacity not yet released". A story on One News on 9 June 2023 described a a "poorly maintained" tunnel and an undated advert for water pumps says, "The build up of coal dust from over the years, has come to the point where the passenger service has been halted through the tunnel. Instead, passengers are taken by busses". Was that the closure reported in a 2013 Stuff article? Johnragla (talk) 08:16, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
