Since when are Pteranodontidae and Nyctosauridae a part of Ornithocheiroidea? Do we have a source as to why they're here instead of with the other toothless pterosaurs in the Azhdarchoidea? 50.30.49.13 (talk) 00:09, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why to fuse Ornithocheiridae with Ornithocheiroidea?

[edit]

Appearently "ornithocheiridae" is re-directed into this page. What is the purpose of this exactly? "Ornithocheiroidea" and "ornithocheiridae" aren't the same things! One is a clade composed of ornithocheiridae, istyodactylidae, lonchodectidae and pteranodontidae (as well as nyctosauridae and anhangueridae, should those clades be independent from pteranodontidae and ornithocheiridae respectively as some people claim), the other is solely a clade within this clade, which includes Ornithocheirus and its closest relatives should there be any. I mean, is like fusing canidae with carnivora! It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! ~Falconfly

Because nobody has written an article for Ornithocheiridae yet, I would assume, and this article presents ornithocheirids in addition to other families, so better to direct it here for now then to, say Pterodactyloidea. Dinoguy2 (talk) 23:57, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Eupterodactyloidea?

[edit]

To improve ease of navigation. Both are virtually identical in taxonomic content and even contain the same cladogram from the same source. It would require minimal editing. 74.101.255.131 (talk) 06:18, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
