Removal of Nordic Sources

[edit]

The nordic harp as seen Beowulf was a lyer as seen in surviving instruments at the sutton hoo burial. These musical instruments was not a triangular harp and the word harpa in old nordic means to strum not related to a triangular instrument. What you say is valid in the Lyre pages not here. THe first depiction ie evidence of a nordic triangular harp occurs with Gunner playing the harp in the 12th century or in Uvdal kirke, Numedal, Norway. 13th possibly the 14th century. There are pottery carvings of various Lyre designs from the Hallsttt culture dating from around 700BC. Not mentioned Germanic Lyres of different fragments and frames discovered dating back to the early first millennium AD. One other recent discovery is a possible Lyre bridge found in a Scottish cranog, dating from around 500BC. Then there is the Brittany statue from 300BC. 174.194.131.203 (talk) 21:26, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
