I removed a large amount of content that was added to this page by User:Chris55, who apparently thought it should be a page for Wikipedia readers duplicating WP:Selected anniversaries. This is an article; that content doesn't belong here. There's already a link at the top to the main page, where Wikipedia's 'on this day' section can be found.
