Peter Firmin at Assoc. Rediffusion

[edit]

What function did Firmin perform at Assoc Rediffusion? It is clear that this was the start of their working partnership, but the article doesn't say why Firmin was in a position to get involved.

Found the answer in the pages about Peter Firmin at the Dragons' Friendly Society.
It's also in "Seeing Things". (Sorry, don't have my copy to hand).

Spelling: "Ifor"!

[edit]

As with the article on Ivor the Engine - surely, "Ivor" should be spelt the Welsh way - as Ifor! That's how I recall it! 86.22.72.64 (talk) 20:34, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've only ever seen "Ivor". If you have references to prove it was ever spelt any different, these should be added to the text.
Alas, it's a bit late to query Mr Postgate about his choice of name... -- EdJogg (talk) 00:57, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A look at http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/RN9B4CYJ13ZUD might just be sufficient to convince you! 86.22.72.64 (talk) 20:13, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To avoid anyone else having to follow the link, this opens a review by someone who has registered on Amazon as "Ifor the engine", who may well have been the above contributor! So, no, it does not convince me...

I aqdmit to my error - and have spent some time now checking properly! The most convincing reference I have found so far is at http://www.kent.ac.uk/research/reports/report01-02/research.html . Hair Commodore (talk) 15:26, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scripts and camera

[edit]

A friend of Postgate showed his collection of original scripts for Noggin the Nog and Pogles' Wood, together with the original black and white camera used to shoot the first editions of Noggin the Nog, gifted to him by Postgate, on BBC's Antiques Roadshow on 18 June 2023. It was descried by Eric Knowles as "a monopoly": [1] 20:20, 18 June 2023 (UTC) 86.187.228.208 (talk) 20:20, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
