I read the article, and its a good technical description of what is going on regarding the oil pump. In a few spots, I elaborated what was going on in general with the engine, such as what the piston rings serve to do, etc. You may also want to, in the section covering the importance of debris-free oil, cover the oil filter a little more in depth since it serves to remove more contaminents than the oil pickup screen on the pump. Other topics I would think could have some place would be synthetic vs conventional oil and whether or not it has any effect on pump performance or life as well as the extended life oils. I realize those are a bit off topic of the oil pump specifically, but they may have a place in the discussion.
