Genre

[edit]

For some reason, some smartass keeps changing the genre. It is Death Metal, but is also Techincal Death Metal. I am not removing death metal from the genre list, I am simply adding technical death metal.

Here's my citations

www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=63100

www.last.fm/music/Obscura

technicaldeathmetal.com/?p=45

So, please, cease and desist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeforhire (talkcontribs) 15:28, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The reason is because none of those sources pass WP:RS. Please read policies before edit warring. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 18:39, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you kidding me? You call yourself a metalhead, but you wouldn't count the Archives as a reliable source?

Well, they are clearly technical death metal, so thanks for citing something "reliable". And I wasn't edit warring, I mean it's common knowledge they are tech death. Are you going to start deleting heavy metal as Black Sabbath's genre if there isn't a source? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeforhire (talkcontribs) 16:54, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please actually read WP:RS (and WP:CIVIL whilst you're at it). "Reliability" doesn't mean "what I happen to believe is true and accurate". In this case it means "their content hasn't been published a third-party independent commercial source so we don't use it". Common knowledge, as you put it, is utterly worthless. If we didn't have a reliable source saying Sabbath were heavy metal, we obviously couldn't include it. That's how Wikipedia works. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 19:06, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Really? I wasn't aware.

/sarcasm —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeforhire (talkcontribs) 15:06, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you were genuinely aware, then you would not be continuing to act uncivilly. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 18:15, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am acting civilly, just not condescending and pompous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeforhire (talkcontribs) 01:09, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comments that contravene civility in the above exchange: "some smartass", "Are you kidding me? You call yourself a metalhead, but you wouldn't count the Archives as a reliable source?", "/sarcasm". This is not a web forum. You want source something, source it. And don't bitch at other editors until they do it for you. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 20:57, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe I was bitching, I believe you were the one who was bitching that I didn't cite the source to "wikipedia standards". So continue to cry about it, please. I thoroughly enjoy it. Instead of asking me to cite my source, or actually showing me how, you complain and say I'm "edit warring" and being a "genre warrior". You need to calm down, you're not some wikipedia God.

Origin

[edit]

I've taken the liberty of correcting their "Origin", as I can find absolutely no info that the should be from "Kosciusko, U.S.A." as currently stated. Their Myspace page clearly states, that they've from "Bayern, Germany". Faerloev (talk) 14:21, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this Wikipedia-article states their origin is Munich; the german Wikipedia-article says it is Landshut. I would like to correct Munich into Landshut, because I have the sneaking suspicion that for non-german people, everything in Bavaria equals Munich. ;) (No harm meant!)92.77.254.131 (talk) 13:50, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
