I placed the POV tag when creating the article because it is pasted from a US government website. Because this comes from a US govt source it may not be neutral, but I don't have the expertise to judge. (Hopefully others that know more will simply remove the tag if they think the article looks okay.) Mangostar (talk) 01:22, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mayflower

[edit]

Didn't the Mayflower have something to do with Holland? Might this be added to the article? --Mr Accountable (talk) 15:10, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it did indirectly. The Pelgrim Fathers stayed in the Netherlands for a couple of years (Amsterdam later Leiden). The left with the vessel Speedwell, to meet with other Pelgrim Fathers in Southampton and embarked with them on the Mayflower.

I have added a first (clumsy) reference to the pilgrims having lived and worked in Leiden, as it indirectly led the founding fathers to seek alliance with the Dutch Republic against the British Empire. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.142.27.12 (talk) 18:49, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note to myself to add to the article (lnk to Dutch WP): http://nl.wiki.x.io/wiki/Pilgrim_Fathers — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drawde (talkcontribs) 15:08, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
