Severely wrong
[edit]i have lived in north bay my whole life, and i do not know where you got this information, but i would say 99% of it is wrong. show sources or ask someone from the area to clean it up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.25.174.57 (talk) 20:46, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I live in North Bay and I am going to try and clean it up and show sources... I took off Red Bridge as it is not a neighbourhood but a town located east of the city that is not affiliated with North Bay nor do they pay local North Bay taxes.
Severely wrong and awful summary of north bay neighbourhoods —Preceding unsigned comment added by Poetad5 (talk • contribs) 20:48, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Redbridge is located inside North Bay's city limits, according to every Ontario map. Bearcat (talk) 22:03, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
i'm sorry, can't you read a map? http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller/map/images/pdf/northont/sheets/Map12.pdf zoom in on north bay and look, redbridge is just outside the city boundary. also, its called WEST Ferris, nor just ferris. the only people who call it ferris are those who live there and they use it as slang. if you prefer to call it ferris, let's change the toronto article to call it t-dot, for philadelphia to philly.
- According to the MapArt Ontario Road Atlas, Page 89, Redbridge is inside the city limits, and even on the map you linked here Redbridge is sitting on the city limits line, not outside of it. And Ferris is an individual neighbourhood within the larger West Ferris area; West Ferris also includes Sunset Park, Marshall Park, Champlain Park, Nipissing Junction and Thorncliff. REDBRIDGE IS NOT PART OF NORTH BAY!!!!!! If you do not believe this, come and take a look for yourself, forget the map because it is wrong. Redbridge taxes do not go to North Bay, it is its own community and most people in the North Bay area know this. City road crews do not service the roads, it is the TOWNSHIP OF REDBRIDGE that services this area. Drive along highway 63 and notice the 'welcome to north bay' and the population sign on North Bay's side of Redbridge. Why don't you look up something a little better than a road atlas map. Redbridge is NOT a neighbourhood!
- There is no such thing as a "Township of Redbridge". The township immediately east of North Bay is an unincorporated, and therefore incapable of delivering any municipal services at all, township called "Phelps". Inventing municipalities that don't exist doesn't exactly do a lot of favours to your credibility, you know. Bearcat (talk) 22:30, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Redbridge is not a neighbourhood of North Bay and if I may quote you, "that doesn't exactly do a lot of favours to your credibility" (Bearcat, 2008). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.187.25.120 (talk) 20:58, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- My credibility isn't in question here; I'm not the one who added Redbridge to this article. I created it only by cutting and pasting content that other people had already added elsewhere. This other person, however, invented a township that doesn't even exist and referenced a map which contradicted his own statement. Bearcat (talk) 23:32, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

- Alright, I just made an edit myself rmoving Redbridge. I lived there my entire life and I can tell you that it is not in the city limits of North Bay, but just outside. It sits in Phelps Township, and if I could find a half-decent map, I would link it. But I can assure you it is not inside the North Bay city limits,. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.185.215.237 (talk) 21:50, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
here's an idea: leave the articles to people who are actually from the area
[edit]i love how people assume bus routes and streets are neighbourhoods in the city. either do one of the following: A) talk to someone who is from the area and confirm the fact that you don't know the city; or B) leave the article writing to people from the area.
also, you forgot to put in neighbourhoods that are referenced in the nugget including st. john's village and graniteville,
also, i do not know of any widdifield forrest provincial park because there's no such thing! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.25.174.57 (talk) 13:09, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Firstly, there most certainly is such a thing as Widdifield Forest Provincial Park. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources does not have a habit of producing such fact sheets about parks that don't exist.
- Secondly, would you kindly name an actual example of a bus route or a street that's being misidentified as a neighbourhood in this article?
- Thirdly, I know North Bay a lot better than you seem to think I do. And I know a hell of a lot more than you do about reliable reference sources, which are a requirement under Wikipedia rules. (Hint: if a MapArt atlas says one thing, and an anonymous IP number whose only provided source for his statement actually contradicts him says another, MapArt wins even if MapArt is wrong, because Wikipedia has to give precedence to what real, published sources say. So if it's wrong, you need to show an actual source to confirm that it's wrong — an unverified personal statement about where the Welcome to North Bay sign is in relation to the community is not sufficient if a published source says something different. Wikipedia's job is to summarize what other sources have already published about a topic, even if that information is wrong, not to insert unverified personal contradictions of what published sources say.)
- And finally, nobody ever said this article was already complete — it's just a compilation of the information that was already present on Wikipedia, which is still a work in progress at the best of times. If there are neighbourhoods missing from it, you're free to add them anytime you want — but complaining that other people haven't already added them is pretty pointless and isn't going to win you a whole lot of respect. Yeah, but it says it's 20km from North Bay, west of the VILLAGE OF REDBRIDGE. not part of North Bay.
- Half of the park falls inside North Bay's city limits, north and east of Widdifield. It's 20 km from downtown North Bay. Bearcat (talk) 07:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think he was stressing the point "west of the VILLAGE OF REDBRIDGE" which clearly states that Redbridge is a village and not a neighbourhood. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.187.25.120 (talk) 20:54, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- It isn't a village, either; there are only 11 incorporated villages in Ontario and Redbridge isn't one of them. A village, by definition, has to be incorporated as an independent municipality with the phrase "Village of..." in its official name. And anyway, he said that the park isn't in North Bay; while he capitalized Redbridge for emphasis, this discussion was about the park. Bearcat (talk) 23:33, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
